2010 Musical Recap CLOSING THINGS OUT RIGHT!!!!!

So since 2010 is coming to an end.....I just thought I would do a {Musical} recap of the YEAR!!!! WHEW!!!

(it's probably not gonna be in order so ......yeah)

Soooooooo anyway a few things that happened this year.......

- Usher hit the charts HARD with one of the smoothest songs ever

"There goes my baby" and released his new album.

- The 1 yr anniversary of Michael Jacksons death (June 25, 2009-10) WE MISS YOU MIKE!!!

- Roscoe Dash, Wocka Flocka Flame, and Wale came out with a rap song that I ACTUALLY LIKE (what?!?!?!?) entitled "No Hands"(WFF verse doesn't count tho lol).....besides that the song is FIYAH!!

- Brandy KILLED it on Dancing With The Stars and devastatingly lost to Bristol Palin (SHAME!!)............stupid tea party!!! >:-(
- El Debarge, one of the greatest songwriters with like the smoothest voice ever, released his cd November 30th. He looks 
even better then he did back in the day and can still hit those high notes.......Go Head El!!
- Charlie Wilson also released a new cd....which I think is more.......CHARLIE :). That man has never stop sounding good!!

- Trey Songz released an album entitled "Sex 101"........lol that's not the real name, but hey it might as well be. lol I didn't like it, but I know a lot of other people did. Why? I have no idea.
- Fantasia unfortunately tried to commit suicide earlier this year. Luckily it wasn't successful cause that would be a waste of all that talent!
- Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are pregnant with a baby(or twins or something....idk) ......I'm kind of curious about how it's gonna look.....hmmmmm......And I really hope they last!!!! :)
- Randy Jackson of the "Jacksons" had a mild heart attack on June 15th.......scary!! Hope he's taking care of himself..........

-Unfortunately I have some deaths to report....Just recently Teena Marie died the day after Christmas and also earlier this year Teddy Pendergrass died of previous conditions.......Their lives lived and their music will definitely be left behind.  We are grateful for their contributions to the music industry and to have partaken in their musical journeys. Thanks for all your inspiration Teena and Teddy.
- On a lighter note:: It is so easy to get a record deal that just by BEING ON THE NEWS you can become famous(what?!?!?!?)...................2 words.................Antwan Dodson. I'm glad he made it out the hood tho. This just makes me wonder WHY DON'T I HAVE A RECORD DEAL YET!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!........
Well anyway.......
- The 2010 Soul Train Awards included 2 of the best Musical Tributes ever, to Anita Baker & Ron Isley.....The whole rest of the show wasn't bad either.....Probably the best awards show I've ever seen in my opinion.......










- A dance group that you may or may not know, but you need to know is JUNGLE BOOGIE. They were on the 5th season abdc and although they didn't win they are doing big things. So when you see them on a flier, make sure you go support them!!!!! JUNGLE BOOGIE! AHHHHH!!! YULE!!! lol I love that.....
- Cee-lo released an album as well!!! His song "Forget You" or F@*# You" is a hit!!! I love it and it definitely just makes me want to get up and dance. If you haven't listened to it, make sure you do!! Don't miss out people!
- Chrisette Michelle (my twin so I've been told) released an album this year, make sure you go support our girl!!
- AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST :::The late Michael Jackson released an album Dec 14th entitled "Michael" in which I do not yet have, but I will be getting as soon as I get a chance.....Please Believe me!!!

............Well that was your 2010 musical recap for the year. I am definitely looking forward to 2011 and all it has to offer.  I will be on my grind working to improve musically, be better overall, and to get closer and closer to heaven.  God has been SO good in the past years and I don't expect any less from him this year coming.  My goal this year is not too much about me, but mainly about bringing others to Christ. I don't want to be selfish anymore, but to let other people know him like I know him.  I pray that everyone is blessed in 2011......yeah things will be tough and situations may become a little rocky, but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!!!!! Just keep praying and believing and he will work it out!!! I love you all and I just want to say HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!! Hope yours is as great as mine will be :) Continue to LET THE MUSIC MOVE YOU!!!! i'll holla!!! lol

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!!                                                        

Christmas is my favorite Holiday!! It's a time to spend with family, watch Christmas movies, relax, put up decorations, listen to Christmas songs, and .............eat a whole bunch of sweets!!  But it's also a time to be thankful and grateful for our families, our situations, and most importantly the birth of Jesus!!  We should all be thankful to God that he sent his only son so that we can have eternal life with him in the Kingdom of heaven.  On this Christmas Eve, I'm just so glad to be home with my family; I'm thankful that God has kept us this far and I'm thankful for what he will do in our lives in the following years. 2010 was a stupid hard year, but I know the only reason I made it through was because of God.  2010 is the year that I changed my whole direction in life and OF COURSE it had to do with music.  Well!!!! in order to use my gifts in music that God has given me, I have uploaded some videos of some !!!CHRISTMAS SONGS!!! that I love and want to share with you all......So yeah I hope you enjoy them!!! : D

Ok so my new my favorite song is "F@%k You" by Cee-lo.  I love the music and the old school feel to it, the video concept is friggin genius, and I love his voice honestly. But anyway check it out for yourself. Lol I'm gonna put both versions up here cause I know some of yall don't like the cussing. I myself don't cuss, but for some reason I like the regular version the best..........Well anyway check it out!! Tell me what you think...... :)

Artist of the Week - NEW!

Ok I know it's been a while, but I'm back!!! time to update with our new artist of the week.......




JOHN LEGEND!!!
As you can see I'm a little bit excited about this one, but who doesn't love the man??

Quick review: This pianist/singer emerged nationally in 2004-2005 when he released his first major selling album "Get Lifted." Since then he has released 2 more albums "Once Again" and "Evolver" which have done quite well!! He is the recipient of six Grammy Awards, and in 2007, he received the special Starlight award from the Song Writer's Hall of Fame. Also, he recently won a philanthropists award for the work he's been doing in Ghana.  His songs, his voice, and his personality have made people all over the world fall in love with him; I know I have.  

What I think: What I like about him is that his songs have their vulgar moments, but the way he puts his songs together it's kind of sneaky........ He makes cheating seem sexy and mysterious (but it's not, it can cost you a lot of heartache!!). His love songs really make you want to be cuddling somewhere with your boo lol ("Ordinary People","Get High", "Quickly"-feat Brandy::whom I love::). He's so smooth in his appearance, you really never hear him doing anything crazy, and who DOESN'T love a fine, light skinned brother who can sing?? Anyway, I'm really just attracted to music that makes me feel and I feel that Johnny Boy has it!.......Well I could really go on and on about John Legend, but I don't want this pasta to burn!! Artist of the Week - NEW!

What up blog!! So I've decided to try something new. Just to bring some variety to my blog, I am going to do an ARTIST OF THE WEEK!! I'll talk about the artist, what they do, how well they do it, and basically give my opinion of the artist/person (and it's not gonna always be people that I like;) unfortunately ). Well anyway, I AM ALSO OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS ON ARTISTS TO DO!!! Think about it and get back to me.


So since I just sang an Alicia Keys song and posted it I'll discuss her and her accomplishments.

So Alicia Keys has always been a beautiful, talented writer and pianist with a unique style of voice and long hair.

She's won grammys, acted in movies such as The Secret Life of Bees, and is
known Worldwide for her music. 

    

Many people love her songs and the meaning behind them and personally I think the meaning behind the songs are great! She's a good song writer, BUT!!!......I'm just not sure about the singing......... She's a pretty good singer, but I don't like the fact that she yells instead of singing a lot and she goes flat on her tracks. NO ONE should go flat on a recording, cause computers should be able to fix that right?!?! As a person she seems to be very sincere and humble.  She's making moves in her career, of course she's dating Swiss Beatz.......they make such a cute couple :) I think. She's also about to have his baby. But I have to be honest, it takes a lot for me NOT to turn the station when one of her songz come on......... Especially "Fallin'".......one song I just can't stand.

Well that's all I have for this week.........I definitely need suggestions for next week. I think I might do Zac Efron or Stevie Wonder or the Jonas Brothers or Chris Brown or something.......It's definitely gonna be a guy. Feel free to pick someone!!

Alicia Keys "If I Ain't Got You"

Alicia during one of her many performances. Alicia Keys is a great song writer, but she just sings ok. She sings better live than she does on her actual tracks in my opinion.

So this is me doing what I do best:) I was singing in Church Sunday. I was singing Press in Your Presence and I had just learned it that morning.......I sounded pretty good, but you know I'm never satisfied with my own work...........I STRIVE FOR PERFECTION! :)
