So many of us BRANDY and Monica fans who loved the 1998 single "The Boy is Mine" and have been following them for YEARS, have been patiently waiting for another duet from them. Then, ages 18-19, they each had released their first albums to break into the music industry, but needed something to take them completely over the edge. The single "The Boy is Mine" DEFINITELY did it!! Monica used it as her title track and Brandy used the hit as track 3...........either way the song was the first #1 pop record for each of them. Written by LaShawn Daniels, Fred Jerkins III, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Brandy with co-production by Darkchild and Dallas Austin, the songs content suggests that "The Boy Is Mine" is an answer song to Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson's 1982 duet "The Girl Is Mine."

14 YEARS LATER.................
They both are raising kids/a kid, are very devoted to their families, and are making moves to chart top once again. Between reality tv, "Dancing With the Stars", and acting roles, the two have continued to remain relevant with the break in releasing music to the public. Monica has a new single out entitled "Gone," which is turning out to be a hit and Brandy is foreshadowing an album that will be releasing in May. I love me some Brandy so AS SOON as it drops..........I'M CATCHING IT (see what I did there??......no?....ok never mind). Although Brandy has released an album entitled "Human" within the past 5-6 years, it did not do well on the charts MAINLY BECAUSE my girl's too deep for some people to comprehend. I LOVED THE ALBUM....bump what ya heard!! Anyway.....moving on.....I decided that all my blog/twitter followers and facebook friends MUST hear this new song. WHAT UP DOE!! So I'm starting this section on my blog that's called "Rising To Fame" where I plan to introduce to those who may be living under a rock or those who just don't know about new groups/people who are on they're way up. Most people who know me, know that I love creativity and all things artistic. And also, if you know me, you know I ABSOLUTELY LOOVVEE to laugh and make other people laugh! It's been a while since I put something funny up here so....cherish the moment!
So on this first post of "Rising To Fame" I introduce to you:
Dormtainment!
DT is a comedy group that was founded in 2009 in Atlanta, GA amongst 5 college students (Chaz, Cam, Mike, Amanuel, and Tay), who were later joined by their 6th member Rome, who is from the GREAT Bullcity like yours truly..........all day *clears throat*.....sorry guys! They have a video based website full of their comedic skits and also where they display all of their individual talents. What is unique about this group is that each one contributes different aspects to the group, whether it be music producing, directing the sketches, video editing, mixing (or dj-ing, don't know the proper term for that lol), or rapping, (but they're not rappers........except Rome) they all contribute to the success of the group. They are now working toward getting their own television show, which I think is well deserved and would be a HUGE success.
I would have to say that when I'm going through and need a good laugh, I look up their videos and I have no choice, but to smile because their timing is perfect, their jokes are unpredictable, and they all just look SO GOOD ;). I do appreciate fine men who have goals and motivation and a sense of humor to top it off.........Ladies look out!

I love this song because so many people can relate to the lyrics. Ever gotten out of a relationship and just couldn't stop thinking about the person? All you could do was think what went wrong and why are we not together? I think everyone comes to a point in life when they have a connection with someone of the opposite sex that they don't have with anyone else. It's a love that you yourself can't even understand. That's why I chose to sing this song, I could really relate.
